5’x22′ foot icicle came loose, took off part of our roof and wall. It got so thick because it had been partially removed some time ago, and new thickness built up around the old thickness. Those little screens you see on the wall are full size windows (for scale).
Looks like this year will be an all time record for total snowfall in the Twin Cities, with this being just one of the associated symptoms. Here’s a pic of our parking lot snow from a month ago (much deeper now):
